Blepharoplasty – Eyelid Lift
Though they make up a very small percentage of our body, the eyelids and how they appear as we age can have a dramatic effect on our appearance. Excessive eyelid skin and/or fat can cause us to appear much older than we actually are, and give a ‘constantly tired’ look to our appearance. Fortunately, a blepharoplasty offers an option to remove the excess skin and/or fat that causes the eyelids to make you look older. This procedure gives safe and reliable results in an outpatient setting to make a dramatic improvement to your appearance.
A blepharoplasty is often considered to be a “cosmetic” procedure, whereby insurance will not cover the cost. However, when excessive skin in the upper eyelid gets so severe that it causes symptoms such as dry or painful eyes, or if it begins to obscure your vision in an upward gaze, insurances will often cover the cost of an upper lid blepharoplasty.
A consultation with Dr. Hermann at his Denton, TX, office will provide you the answers you need, such as which type of eyelid lift procedure would most benefit you, as well as whether your insurance might cover the procedure.
Facial Lesions
Lesions or growths on the face, whether they be cancers, moles, or simple cysts, can dramatically change your appearance as they tend to draw attention to your visage. Even benign lesions should seriously be considered for removal, as these lesions almost never regress on their own.
Dr. Hermann is the surgeon of choice for many dermatologists in the Denton country area who entrust him with their patients to remove lesions on the face resulting in the best and most relatively invisible scar possible. Even non-cancer lesions on the face are covered by insurance plans for removal. If you have a lesion or growth on the face that you think you might want to have removed, schedule a consultation with Dr. Hermann and he will give you a thorough evaluation to let you know what your options are for removal.
Rhytidectomy – Facelift
There is nothing that will make you look older than loose skin and musculature of the face and neck. As we age, gravity causes the skin and muscles of the face and neck to sag, giving us an ‘aged’ appearance.Facelifts and/or neck lifts (rhytidectomy) are the facial surgery of choice for tightening up the appearance of the face to give it a much more youthful appearance. The options for neck and facelift procedures are quite numerous and are specific to each individual patient. A consultation with Dr. Hermann will provide you with the information you need to decide if a facelift or neck lift might be an option to restore youth and vitality to your appearance.
Facial Fractures
Injuries to the face can often results in fractures of the underlying bones given the fact that these bones are much thinner and delicate than the majority of other bones in the body. Unfortunately, a fracture of a facial bone can significantly alter your appearance if the bones become displaced or out of their usual position.
Dr. Hermann did his plastic surgery training at a Level I Trauma Center giving him an excellent experience in safely and effectively treating facial bone fractures. If you have been recently injured and received a fracture of any facial bone, schedule a consultation with Dr. Hermann to see if repair of the broken bone is warranted to keep your appearance as it was before your injury.
FaceTite
