Dr. Hermann: If there's one product out there that sells itself, it would have to be Botox. After having done hundreds upon hundreds of Botox injections, I'm not sure I've ever found a patient who does not like the results of Botox. As we age, we start to develop wrinkles in our face. The most common areas are the glabella from frowning, the forehead from lifting our eyebrows, and the smile lines along the eyes. These are telltale signs of aging. Botox basically will prevent those lines from forming or alleviate the appearance of them if they already have formed.
Botox is a neurotoxin. It paralyzes muscles. However, there has never been a fatality from the use of Botox in a cosmetic setting. It is very, very safe if in the hands of an experienced injector.
