Mommy makeover surgeries are extremely popular because you have so many women who go through pregnancy and have changes to their body, and they want to go back to their pre-pregnancy body. What is a mommy makeover? It's a waste-basket term because it doesn't mean anything exactly specific. However, most people would consider a mommy makeover to include a tummy tuck, along with some procedure to their breasts. That could be breast augmentation, breast lift, a combo of breast lift and breast augmentation, or even breast reduction. We see a ton of patients for mommy makeovers. I did a fellowship after plastic surgery in cosmetic breast and body surgery, so this is like my wheelhouse. I do these surgeries day in and day out. Here in Dallas, where you have a lot of women seeking plastic surgery, I've become known for doing them. You can go to the gym every day, and it's not going to fix saggy skin. It's not going to fix diastasis, which is where the abdominal muscles get split apart during pregnancy, and it's not going to restore the volume of your breast. However, these things can be fixed with surgery. If you have issues with your body after pregnancy, and you want to fix them, you can find yourself a surgeon who does a lot of cosmetic breast and body surgery. Go have a consult. Talk to them about what your wishes are. Hopefully, they will take the time to listen to you, find out exactly what your goals are, and can formulate a plan for surgeries that can restore your body to what it was before you had kids. A good candidate for a mommy makeover is somebody who has done having kids because you would want to do all these surgeries and then have another pregnancy, and also a person that's gone through pregnancy and had changes to their body that they can't take care of on their own. If you have a little bit of extra fat tissue, that can be taken care of either through diet or exercise, but things like loose skin, stressed-out abdominal wall, volume in the breasts, these are things you can't fix yourself. If you have those issues, you're done having kids, then you're a good candidate for a mommy makeover.
