My name is Dr. Bruce Hermann. I'm a board-certified plastic surgeon in the Dallas–Fort metroplex. I've been in private practice for almost 15 years. I initially was a general surgeon before I trained in plastic surgery, then I did a complete two-year plastic surgery fellowship and then did an extra year in cosmetic breast and body surgery. I was recruited to Denton because they wanted someone that was fellowship-trained in both cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the breast. I was brought here by a hospital who helped me set up this practice. Since then, I've expanded my practice into multiple areas. Mostly I do cosmetic breast and body surgery, but I still do a lot of breast reconstruction, body reconstruction, and even some trauma surgery. I went into general surgery thinking I was going to be a cardiac surgeon. However, that field started to decline and I had to find another field. I quickly found that I was attracted to plastics because of the artistry in it. I'm an artist. I love music, I love art, so that was a very good transition for me into a surgical field where I could use my more artistic abilities to be a better surgeon. I really love when patients give me feedback. I actually have a place in my office where I have all the cards and notes that patients have written to me. When patients come back to me and say, "Hey, I had a great experience," or "You changed my life in this way," I love that. It means a lot to me.
